KANTARA HOUSE was a storage house in the 1930s used by its owners to make Zivania.

Zivania also referred to as “firewater” because of its alcohol contained 43-60%. it’s the islands national drink.

Zivania is a potent distillation of the leftover grape skins mixed with high quality dry wines and mellowed for a long period. It is a drink for the brave at heart with a mighty strong kick, best served cold from the freezer. 

Zivania was used as an aperitif to treat and sterilize wounds, to massage sore body parts, to numb toothache or warm the body from cold.

Pavlos and Mary, bought this property in 2004 and in 2018 did a complete transformation of the place but kept its original charm and character. The idea was to create a truly relaxed and luxury cottage retreat home.

The couple, both with years in the travelling business, and lovers of traveling themselves, converted the place with touches from their trips around the world.
